Police Reform in #America Must include Rebranding the Police ...Change their “LOOK”

https://renaldocmckenzie.blogspot.com/2020/06/police-reform-must-include-rebranding.html  I  wanted to make it clear that I am not against having Law &Order, I am against the undermining of law &order by those who are called to uphold and serve it. They are to be held at a higher standard than any other. And they are to be adjudged harsher as well. So, I detest this protestation by the Atlanta Police because Moral authority and credibility gives the Police #power.
#PowerAndInfluence to Act &when that is in question they loose their essence, their moral currency &power, their ability to influence. The #President and #America understand that and is working to fix the erosion of trust and the #Police can save face by being a vital #partner at the table so that this trust can be restored. It is not the Gun that gives #police the moral authority to act, it is the trust that people have in them which is built overtime by being Just, fair and true to all.
We the American people are to be blamed for not expecting more from our elected leaders and our police. We needed to pressure our leaders to demand more from our police and to punish them when they are unjust (and encourage and challenge them when it’s tough). We allowed the decay to continue all these years by being indifferent, and now the wound is erupting interfering in our normal lives and threatening disorder.
Certainly, the Violence and misconduct within the #Police have largely enjoyed the protection of not just the state but we the people, be it Democrat’s or Republicans. But to protect the police’s value, our leaders need to constantly intervene in the currency of its law enforcement. But this has never been the case. Our Leaders at times fail to act or are too slow to protect the integrity of its people and the currency of its police due to political and ideological differences that have nothing to do with building a strong #Policeforce for all.
To our leaders: DO NOT POLITICIZE #Policereform. This is your opportunity to bring the country together because #lawandorder within a functional society is necessary for progress but so too is having a just and fair society for all because not having this can breathe disorder and revolution as well. Today the #Atlanta #Police are protesting and threatening to call out sick. The #Policemen doing this are part of the problem. They do not understand their role as essential service and part of the arbiter of law, order and truth. And as such they believe that they can protest a legal proceeding against one of their members; this is #Pharisaical and hypocritical. If one of your member fails to execute the law, you should be the more strict in applying discipline since you are in the business of doing so. Or you should ensure that the law runs its course in measuring his actions. But they want to not just be accused of injustice but obstructing or interfering with it as well. How incredulous. The office of a #Policeofficer is not easy and is tough and difficult. “All eyes are on you”; because  you get to arrest and make pre-judgements and you carry a badge and a weapon. That’s the job you choose to do. Thank you....
So let’s continue the dialogue because when we are finish we will have a better #police, for the police, for my fellow #Americans and society at large. What’s wrong with having a new and or improved police force. Is it for the best or the worse? One that our children and grandchildren will inherit. One that serves them and all their friends.
