Do you really earn the right to be heard by listening to others...

#JohnCMaxwell wrote in #LinkedIn and uses this tag line “Earn the right to be heard by listening to others. Seek to understand a situation before making judgments about it." -John C. Maxwell
But, This can be misleading... because we tend to cherish our rights and freedoms to speak as a human. Free speech is already earned. But I guess you mean to speak to others. And indeed even after you think you understand and make judgements, they can be illogical or implausible. I’d say don’t hold on to your judgements always be open to change and updates.
However others such as Steven Covey echoes the same sentiments saying that “You make more friends by listening to them than you do by telling them what you think” But I say @ some point you will need to tell them what you think because I would want to know who I’m becoming friends with as well. “the truth is not just heard it’s shared” contact Renaldo via LinkedIn: http://linkedin.com/in/renaldo-mckenzie-rev-m-phil-m-a-08724944
