Why You Should Not Rush to get a New Job Right after you’ve been Separated from Work

Do not rush to get a new Job right after you’ve been laid off or separated from your employer. Especially during this COVID-19 Pandemic when you’re collecting UE and or Federal COVID benefits. Instead, now  is the perfect opportunuty to do self-examination and reflection and reinvest in one’s career-life as the world is changing and evolving ever so rapidly.  In fact, a recent PEW study report indicated that most  U.S. workers say that “new skills and training” may be indespensable to their future career life success. This is due to the Tectonic  changes that is “reshaping U.S. workplaces” as the economy becomes more “knowledge-based and these changes are rewarding “social, communications and analytical skills”.  https://www.bls.gov/lpc/ Socrates said, “the unexamined life is not worth living”; and at times the routine and demands of work-life may cut into meaningful time needed to rest, recoup, retool and realize greater satisfaction and value in one’s career and professional life.  S

Why, “Black Lives Matter?”

Come..., Let us reason together: Platos: All lives matter.  Aristotles: But black lives are subjected to most of the violence and abuse in society. Socratese: Well, Aren’t [Blacks] the most disorderly, lawless and difficult in “society”. Descartese: So all Blacks are disorderly then and Other people’s are beyond bad.   Arete of Cyreene: Never the case... all have fallen short and anyone can be bad or good at any given time given the state of their conscience and will.  Hippocrattese: So the point is pointless regarding all Blacks being bad and we are back to the same place.  Euthydemusse: But if you are right and blacks are usually bad, why so and how so, a baseless calculation lacking verification. Theanos: Black people have been the target of systemic abuse, discrimination and poverty. Black people have suffered and are suffering from the trauma of over 300 years of slavery and degradation.  Marrx: So their realities make them do creative things to survive.  W. E. B Dubo

Investing... Is it really the way to Becoming Rich?😳

#Traders or #RichPeople will tell you to #Invest #Money to get #Rich😂... That’s if you’re already rich or already have money or are privileged enough to get access to money such as a loan or inheritance or a gift from your ancestors. But for most people especially those who are #Black or born outside of wealth which is most of us, we will have to work dam hard or do creative things to get money. Then when you get it you can invest to maintain it. So the better advice is: the way to maintain “Riches is to invest money. Because if you are poor and invest the little you have you will become poorer. So Be Wise!  What about the “Spirit of Capitalism and the Protestant Ethic” of #Hardwork and #Saving? What about accessing greater opportunities that helps you live beyond paycheck to paycheck. Everyone cannot be Rich in a world of limited means and resources and unlimited wants and needs. But everyone can live live  meaningful lives with a standard of living that is modest and leads to conten

#Blacklives Matter... #Whitelives Matter. So, why is “Kat ‘Speaks’ ...Upset”?

Amidst this current Police unlawful killings of Black people,  and the outrage from the public and the calls for PoliceReform, a small voice speaks. It is BlackLives that has suffered the most brutality from the Police,  Not white people. Yet we get squeamish at the partial slogan -#Blacklivesmatter and want to be diplomatic, ”nice” and inclusive and say that all lives matter when it seems only #whitelifematter. #Blacklivesmatter puts it into better and a more workable perspective). @Kat Speaks shares a deep and passionate blog saying “I’m Upset” as we all should be: http://kickinitwithkatef.blogspot.com/2020/05/im-upset.html . What a well-Well written piece. I hear and feel the anger and frustration in your writing. Enough is enough you feel outraged. 🤬 . You defend eloquently your position concerning why you only say “Black Lives Matter instead of All lives matter. And conclude justifiably so with a call for absolute resolution on the matter ... violence which can be good wh

#Trump Versus #Biden

I was doing some reading and I happen to put down my manuscript to peruse social media and the news and I started seeing some patterns which led to a thought from which I had deduced that Biden May yet be in trouble although Trump is currently suffering a wound in the 5th round. Because while Trump is down, he’s not out and he is good for playing the underdog. More in this later. But to continue, Biden is ceasing on this vulnerability and hitting at Trumps wounds. #Covid-19, Policeviolence and reform, Bolton’s book, healthcare are all problems that has overwhelmed Trump and his messaging and corner(staff) have not helped him in the way that they should and as such made miscalculations about campaign plans and events.  Sam Chevalier said on Facebook: Now... i am going to say something that will be very controversial, but..... i don't like Biden... i don't want to vote for him, but it is going to come down to Biden vs. Trump. I have to go Biden. America can't do another 4 yea

#If TIKTOK...ANTI MARXIST GOV... was trying to be funny with that twitter reply to my #tweet. This was my reply via twitter @RenaldoMcKenzie https://lnkd.in/gAQG_NJ “There’s no such thing as failures as long as you’re alive. It is a matter of perspective. If you’re a pessimist & full of doubt & lack hope - yes. How Philly Police Used Tear-Gas on Residents While Their Elected Officials Play Cover Up

Remember the recent blog I shared regarding “Police Reform in Doubt after Police used Tear-Gas on Philadelphia Residents on June 1 from a NY Times Inbesrihative Report. See the story here if you missed it:  #PoliceReform in Doubt after #Philadelphia Officials Covered up Police Illegal use of Tear Gas By RenaldoCMcKenzie http://renaldocmckenzie.blogspot.com/2020/06/policereform-in-doubt-after.html  In Retrospect, the #news headline should have Read: How #Philadelphia #Police Tear-Gassed #Philadelphia residents while their (residents’) elected officials Play Cover Up. And yet they blame #Trump for everything. Isn’t philly a liberal city with Democratic leadership 😳. I’m telling you the problem of race and police violence goes beyond Political Party. The Democrats are just as responsible as GOP. We will not apologize or be easy on Philly because they’re liberal or predominantly Black. The issues of Police Violence and unaccountability is beyond party lines, it’s everywhere where Black or

“What If”... I’m not Black, What If” All this #BLM Stuff Offends Me?

In the Midst of the Cry to Save #Blacklives from #Policebrutality, comes a big bold dissenting voice challenging #Reform and the #BLM.  Elton Milton #tweeted a comment in response to my post on #Twitter “What is the Ultimate of All Things”. https://twitter.com/renaldomckenzie/status/1275982497273217024?s=21 .  Elton wrote: What if I've never been a bigot? What if I'm  not black? What if I've  been decrimanated against many times? I responded saying: It is written that When Cain Killed Abel, God asked of Cain “...where is Thy brother?” Cain responded: “...Am I my brother’s Keeper. And it is written that There was a Man a Traveller a Jew who was beaten up and left for dead, several of his brothers, passed him by the wayside without offering help but excuses. #EU Reopens July 1: #China Welcomed, #USA Banned...

Remember how #Trump blamed #China for the #COVID-19. In fact at one point it was called the Chinese disease. The US even banned #China at one point. Well I have news for you: #Friday The #EU will bar most travelers from the #USA #Russia & other countries considered too risky because they have not controlled the #coronavirus. But travelers from countries Like #China, not overwhelmed by the #COVID19 will be welcomed when #EU reopens July 1.

#PoliceReform in Doubt after #Philadelphia Officials Covered up Police Illegal use of Tear Gas

#Philadelphia #CoverUp #Policeviolence  #Newyorktimes reports that #Philadelphia Officials Apologize’: #Philadelphia Officials Announce Changes After Protest Response. The move came hours after a #NewYorkTimes video revealed that the Philly police had violated their own protocols during a response to a protest in June, even after the protesters had complied. See video Link below: https://www.nytimes.com/video/us/100000007174941/philadelphia-tear-gas-george-floyd-protests.html?referringSource=articleShare #Question: If the #Media in #NewYork didn’t privately investigate and ascertain this story their would be no apology. It took this report for the #Philadelphia Officials to act. Absolutely ridiculous this is Exactly what we are talking about. This cover up and lack of accountability and responsibility. Not even the local news in Philly had this but New York Times. You see why Black people and the #BLM are suspicious of the talk about Reform because after the talk nothing happens just c

Sometimes it’s good to step on toes, because it is then that you will get a squeal

Sometimes it’s good to step on toes, because it is then that you will get a squeal.  And, is it not true that it is in stirring the pot that you at times will find movement that effect sweet change.  Criticism and Protestation, through words or action facilitates Thinking which is not easy, it is critical, challenges previous thought and creates opportunities for positive and effective change. My comments and posts may be troubling and questioning but is designed to create ripples of critical thought so that we can think and re-think what we thought.

Work Smart not Hard.

Jon Youshaei says “...there's a difference between working hard and working smart” (Via LinkedIn). June 25, 2020). Thx but may we also consider that #Working hard does not negate the wisdom to do so with Smarts and wits. Don’t make an issue out of it. #Work smart as you #work hard. In fact you must also work within a context that facilitate working smart without working hard. But when you have one manager in an office doing all the work that 10-15 people did then you may have some problems. Either way to meet goals at work one may need to be smart, not to cheat or find loop holes to getting the job done. I’d say Rely on your team and always continue to work hard and be smart about it:  Balancing the joys of life within a hectic high-volume and rapidly changing

“If “We” Dont Get What We “Want” we will Burn Down the #System.”

The Black Lives Movement of Geeatwe NYC Hawk Newsome according to Fox said that “If we don’t get what we want we will burn down the system”. https://images.app.goo.gl/ZCktqXnTRVgv1mZn8 There’s a difference between wants and need. What “we” want? Now I believe there is some traction in the right direction but there has to be more and then to be seen. There is still this dialogue between police and community that must happen and there must be a focus on healing as well. Then there has to be community engagement before a smart pants in the house just meet in chambers push out a bill without having deliberate and meaningful discussions with their constituents. Now we cant allow the conversation of change and reform to delve into them vs Us and threats of violence; we only dumb down the arguments and process of change and redraw battle lines as if to brace for civil war. Further when you Burn everything down, what and who is... left? Change won’t happen, effective and lucrative and lasting

Case Story: Thy...How Hard is it to Confess and Make Amends?

I have been doing much reflecting since Thy bout with death. Well I thought it was a near death experience having a gun pulled right at thee by He, the hands of an enraged “black” young hood Man just days ago. In my mind Thy is still begging for Thy’s life, but at times Thy felt as though Thy should have been shot at and Thy would not have made a “sound”. Thy ended up being the victim out of all of this but was at first the prey. When all was said and done He who had held the gun became the target of much confrontation and contention as he had done this awful thing. But the action had warrant the crime. And It was Thy who had wronged first... and now Thy holds the gun and He must now surrender an apology from what any man who oppose such advances would pull a gun to do. I feel that this sin could bite and Thy must now ask God for his forgiveness and Face Him to whom Thy must surrender. Thy can only accept an apology and confess. But is Thy Man enough to do so.... And can Thy bear the c

Crime and Violence Surging: Poverty, Police and the State of the Human Conscience.

“When you have some people who get employed as crime reducers and they  themselves are crime producers how can we have a better  🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲” (Ear Allen on Facebook on June 24, 2020).  It’s a #Jamaica and everyone’s problem. How can we work together to improve conditions in jamaica so that crime is reduced? Crime can’t be only tackled by force as in law force but through looking at the issues that give rise to it and attach head on. Poverty is a main reason, but so too is the weakened state of the human conscience and the ideologies that blind us. “#Spirituality” and the “#psychology of #Love” and #hope is becoming less relevant, this bling and get rich secularistic culture invading all of society at the expense of our pursuits of the “Ultimate” and what is divine Has made us heartless Godless and numb to the hurt and pain of humanity so that violence fills the void. Racism acceptable, DISCRIMINATION AND POLICE BRUTALITY is tolerated and gun violence facilitated through the pur

CORRECTION And Apology to Facebook

CORRECTION: I published a post stating that Facebook seem to have blocked some from accessing my website blog from their page. This was Never the case. It was a technical error that has been rectified. THANK YOU for your patience.

Facebook seem to have Blocked some of my Blogs.😳

#Facebook seem to have blocked readers from accessing some of my blogs via Facebook website/page. I’m Sorry about that. While I get to the bottom of this, you can copy and paste my blog site article or copy and paste my blog site https:/renaldocmckenzie.blogspot.com to access my blogs and posts. Here was I defending #Facebook as a neutral and innocuous platform for free speech and they blocked my content by creating an error message when you click on the link saying: “this page does not exist”. 🤣 I felt so awful. Nevertheless I still think we can get the value we want out of anything be it good or bad.

“Get the Police off our Streets...” and “off my Back”!

https://www.facebook.com/renaldo.mckenzie/videos/10156336761953242/  (video quality may be poor). #PoliceReform #Philadelphia #NorthPhiladelphia: #Fightback: Three years ago today June 24, 2017: Philadelphians March in #Protest of #Policeviolence - the unlawful killing and terrorization of black communities in Philly when they need to injected with lucrative investments for growth. That was 3 years ago and what changed... nothing as today we are still protesting for #PoliceReform. Back then they were saying “#Getthepoliceoffourstreets or “...off my Back”. Today the call is for “#Defunding the police” or “...I can’t Breathe”. Let’s see if the protest will dissipate just as it did 3 years ago... but #Don’tStopfighting for #Change proactively... till it comes. Note: Get the police off the streets was not a call for lawlessness and disorder, but a call for law and order within our force so that there’s justice and fairness for all.

To Hell with #Police Reform, A new Computer Algorithm May Prevent Police Violence

Remember my post recently calling for #Police Reform that includes Rebranding and changing their Look?  http://renaldocmckenzie.blogspot.com/2020/06/police-reform-must-include-rebranding.html    Well, we have yet to see that materialize. Instead while doing my daily news read I saw a tweet on @Twitter with the heading “Can a New Algorithm Prevent Police Brutality? Minneapolis Wants to Find Out”:  https://www.thedailybeast.com/can-a-new-algorithm-prevent-police-brutality-after-george-floyd-minneapolis-wants-to-find-out Absolutely Not,  if what you’re thinking is to use some computer-based system to identify bad #cops.  Algorithm to identify bad cops...LOL, like those dam “Lie Detectors” or Psychology Tests that people can cheat and beat and never accurate most of the time.  People are either inherently good or bad and any person can be bad at any given time... Jesus knows that, that’s why he had to die so that we use his righteousness and not ours. What we need is for #co

Corporations... more concerned with their Bottom Lines than Fixing Racism?

#Corporations have facilitated racism by terminating blacks so easily or making it difficult for Black professionals to grow. One major Firm said my #black brother did not fit the “culture”. So they let him go. If you’re black you are outside of the #corporateculture. However Corporations are now saying that they want to get involved in fixing race. But does that mean the same thing - placate black people by skirting the issue - throw a luncheon with some black leaders and make some donations to “white-washed” black groups or programs for photo ops, then they get back to the business of making money and getting the right fit, without dealing with racism and discrimination within their own companies.  Black professionals are rare and they are paid way less than their colleagues and are terminated much more easily or have the greatest expectations.  I leave with this story: in 2014 I was a Financial Advisor at major Bank. I was the only licensed producer/Advisor at the Branch who could s

Screw Facebook...

Screw facebook. They allow pedophiles to network and share child images, allow graphic images of police killings, but limit conservative speech and views. They have become a propaganda machine for China, extreme left and liberals (Alex Kinte, Director and Filmmaker, LinkedIn June 22, 2020).  I found this critique of #Facebook to be narrow-minded and irresponsible. First, Alex wouldn’t you agree that the Bible is a good Book But it was used to justify Racism just like those who falsely use the #Quran to justify 9/11. And to be more basic and elementary isn’t a knife a knife ‘whose’ purpose is to cut certain things... we abuse it when we go outside of its intended purpose.  Similarly, #Facebook and #Twitter and some other social media platforms are neutral and innocuous platform. We use it. People make it bad. And you are wrong, they have not become the propaganda machine for #China and the extreme left and liberals. Social Media is a free medium to share your thoughts. In fact if Pedop

It’s O.K if some #Cops leave the Force... That’s part of the Reform.

Amidst this talk of #PoliceReform  https://twitter.com/renaldomckenzie/status/1272891522535612416?s=21   the Men who wear Police are leaving. The Patriot Reports that approximately 600 #cops are considering leaving. This may be good as NYC Mayor was already considering to cut the police budget in NYC. These “Men” don’t get it. The frustration and anger that people have weld up inside of them as #Police over the years enjoy the protection of the state from their violence and their conspiracy and cover up. They stood together and watch as their colleagues murder black men while turning a black eye. The public is incensed and cops are threat to leave.  FYI: The #PoliceForce and #Law and Order will always be here. It’s those who wear the badge that is transient. Cops are mere men who occupy or wear the badge but the office of the police or the badge will always be here. We need just men and a system that holds them accountable.  By the way, Unemployment is high so I don’t see a problem get

Dino A Mancari criticized me on Facebook saying I’ve gotten better at looking bad.     Dino A Mancari June 22 at 2:55 PM   Renaldo C. Mckenzie He really doesn't need any help with looking bad. He's gotten better at that. 😂 See my response.... My bad look to you is subjective and relative to you. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. And you lack the ability to make sound judgements so your criticism is futile... What looks bad my thoughts and blogs renaldocmckenzie.blogger.com about loving one another and forgiveness. Belief in human dignity and going beyond self and ideologies to help one another and the oppressed. Is that what is bad? Or my Beautiful Black Body and mind that I simply adore and at times celebrate and share.  Instagram: @Renaldocivis Haha... Do they offend you guys? Is it obscene? Do they affect your ideas of what is aesthetically right and wrong? Should we limit our freedom of expression to acquiesce to the 'right' and their values? Should I embrace

Neoliberalism, Global Recession and the American Inner Cities. By Renaldo C. McKenzie

In the wake of the global recession that began in 2008, the global embrace of neoliberalism left scars on the international economy and has economically eviscerated the inner cities of the United States and disenfranchised the individuals who reside in such areas.  David Moss observed that the post-industrial economic failure of the early 21st century involved and insidious interplay between bank failure, deregulation and racial/social inequity.  From the standpoint of a Jamaican national on asylum in North America living in an urbanized environment, personal savings as a percentage of disposable income has been falling steadily since its high point of 13.7 percent.  Since the 1980s, it has declined to such an extent that today, personal savings, as a percentage of disposable income stands at -2.9 percent.  Correspondingly, over the last thirty years the middle class in the United States has been shrinking, while poverty and childhood hunger have been on the rise (Moss). However The
