What’s the use of learning about social and economic Inequality....?

What's the use of learning about social inequality. Then again, is it inherently characteristic of society that it has to exist. Some scholars like Marx and functionalists and critical elite theorists like dormhoff and wright argue that the "we are one nation" idea is absurd. We are not one nation, it's an elusive dream. But this argument is precisely what Massey describes as our human tendency to categorize. This consciousness finds expressions in our structures upon which the market system rests. Thus creating unequal distribution of wealth by class, race and gender. Marxists however postures a kind of dialectic where the two classes are at odds. Both use tools to gradual ameliorate the others hegemony or advancement. This tension breathes revolution. Is this the response to social-economic and political injustice? More on this later.
