Steve Nash Says That His White Privilege Helped To Land Him The Nets Coaching Job, But Is Still Keeping It!
#SteveNash while acknowledging publicly that it was his white race that helped him to get the nets coaching job, says that he’s still keeping it.
In doing so he’s agreeing with Stephen A. Smith Myself and others who argued last week, when news broke of him being named head coach causing surprise in the NBA world, that “this is white privilege” ... as the optics suggest white privilege. Here’s a hall of famer who has no coaching experience whatsoever and has never even indicated an interest in coaching, who is now gonna coach the Nets with superstars passing up better blacks”.
Indeed We have said and know this from the outset. But what adds insult to injury and intensities the insensitivity of it all, was when Nash and Max Kellernan can see it for themselves but still accept it and continue with it as if to say it’s ok, I’m “black friendly” so it doesn’t hurt.
You know, its easy for #SteveNash to come out and acknowledge publicly that he “skipped the line” proving that getting the #BrooklynNets #coaching job was #WhitePrivilege, while hinting that being a former player helped. But all those other blacks that Nets passed up were players too and even greater than Nash.
Moreover, do you think #blackpeople could come out publicly and say that they “skip the line”? Absolutely Not! But a #White @SteveNash can. Not a Black @CameronNewton if roles were reversed. Yet @maxkellerman proudly says “I’ll never give up [his] #whiteprivilege which caused #Nash to skip line. Yet Nash proudly acknowledges that it was his whiteness that landed him the job at the expense of others who are of a better pedigree than he is and who has been waiting and working patiently. All Nash had to do was to be white!
But I’ve posit this in a thesis essay concerning the new capitalist society where it’s not about hard work really, only if you’re black, Getting ahead in life is about nepotism, association and connections, and if you’re white you got a lot of it as our black connections and association are next to nothing or few.
