Overturning Past Decisions Of The Supreme Court By Putting A Rightwing Judge on The Bench Is Not A Clear-cut Deal
Judge Amy Coney Barrett, a federal appellate judge and Notre Dame law professor, is a proven conservative with a compelling personal story who has long been atop. President Donald Trump's Supreme Court short list.
Amy is the mother of seven children and a former law clerk to the late right-wing beacon Justice Antonin Scalia, Barrett, now 48, was a finalist for the Supreme Court spot that went to Brett Kavanaugh in 2018. she has demonstrated her conservative bona fides on Second Amendment gun rights, immigration and abortion. Advocates on the far right have backed her possible nomination because of her writings on faith and the law. Religious conservatives were especially energized for Barrett.

Now, if the plan is to elect a #conservative #justice who would join the other conservatives on the #supremecourt only to overturn #RoeVWade and other “bread and butter” issues that are pro liberal with a simple vote you got it wrong. New arguments will have to be presented that debunk the old & that challenge previous Decision of the Court.
To attempt to overturn decisions of The Supreme Court is to challenge the institution of a Supreme Court which pride itself in making logical, sound, and popular decisions that it thinks preserves the constitution and the nation.
To overturn any decision of the court is to first challenge the logic, integrity and the justices commitment to fairness and the institution which comprises all justices past and present.
The justices are not just conservatives or liberals. They are part of a fraternity made up of the old and the new justices and no new justice will betray that fraternal and institutional order. In effect rushing to elect a conservative justice to overturn major decisions of ethics which has costed years of hard work and pain will not be as clear cut.
So, Liberals need not worry about major rights the courts have secured through their rulings. However they would need to worry about current fights on immigration and gun rights. But, what they should concern themselves with is developing sound legal arguments that are logical, popular and that challenges and attempt to overturn their already secured rights and ones they are currently fighting for.
