#CovidRelief Stalled As GOP Senators Block $1200 stimulus Check

I was right, it was a #falsealarm $900 Billion #stimulus compromise is actually a far cry from within reach as #congress scrambles to complete a #covidrelief; last night #GOP #senators blocked a bill to provide $1,200 stimulus checks to struggling Americans in this economic downturn. What were we thinking, to believe that an agreement would come out of such a divided and joke of a congress where nothing is done for American people only for themselves, their donors and political careers. 

@Bishoptalbertswan describes this conundrum very well on Twitter: “Imagine a #country where #politicians gave #stimuluschecks of only $1200 to the #workingpoor, but $1.6 million to 43,000 #millionaires, and after 36 wks of a deadly #pandemic that #killed 300K and ravaged the #economy, #blocked giving the poor another $1200”. 

Yet the same GOP #Senators are looking to control the #senate by winning #Georgia #senate run off #elections thereby creating a similar situation where they block everything that serves the upliftment of (#struggling) #Americans. They want to win so badly so that they can return to being the #party that #blocks and obstructs everything just like the #Obama years!

    Trying to figure out what got obstructed during the Obama years. Especially since the dems controlled the house, senate and legislative branch for the first two years of his presidency. As of now the president is asking for congress to increase the stimulus to 2000 dollars. If you actually look at the deal, there is so much stuff that is not going towards the stimulus. It was a 5000 plus page document. This is how they make deals by compromise and in the end the Americans suffer. I would just head blaming the GOP for everything. You have Democrat’s in office for 50 plus years and no results at any time. If I remember correctly the speaker of the house and Senate minority leader played down played the virus. Also the encouraged the shut down and are still shutting down small business owners. To be honest your post is the blame game. No self accountability. The dems do not practice what they preach.

Breaking: Russian military shot dead 51-year-old US Correspondent, Brent Renaud in Irpen

Kyiv Region Police Chief Andriy Nebytov said that the Russian military had shot dead 51-year-old The New York Times correspondent Brent Renaud in Irpen.  Another journalist was injured and is currently in Okhmatdyt Hospital.  According to open sources, Brent Renaud was a photojournalist and director, making many documentaries with his brother.  The publication itself has not yet confirmed the death of its correspondent. President Zelenskyy of Ukraine submitted an update regarding the War: The main points of his message in the video: 1. He calls for a “NO—FLY—ZONE” in the region, and stated that 74 percent of Americans support the no-fly-zone. Yet we have not approved the request, a decision that will help significantly, Ukraine’s advantage in the war.  2. The Armed forces of Ukraine hold all areas of defence and are counterattacking Russian invaders near: Kharkiv, and holding the line in Maykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv region, Sumy region and Dobas.  3.
