Police Must Work To Restore Their Credibility And Moral Authority!

The Police Union says that “... police morale are low. “ He said he’s already hearing concern many of the 1,300 officers the Seattle Police Officers Guild represents. He said many officers are struggling with morale and now losing their chief. ( http://komonews.com/news/local/police-union-says-officers-struggling-with-low-morale-following-chief-bests-retirement ) But I’d say, what’s worse or adds “insult to injury” is when those charged with upholding the law abrogate their duty and practice racial injustice. And We must truthfully confront our history of racial injustice before we can repair its painful legacy of police violence. Therefore, we must work even harder to abolish it.  Further and more importantly, Police violence and vigilante justice on black lives must stop because it affects police moral authority and reduces any currency and credibility they may have left to serve and protect all. In effect, creating lawlessness and disorder; setting the stage for “civil unrest” l...

Stephen A. Smith Is Making The “Invisibility of “White Privilege” and “Racial Injustice” Impossible!

Recently Stephen A questioned the decision to name Nash as Nets Head Coach calling the action whiteprivilege.  Click Here to view Stephen's Comments Many of his peers lashed out at him for doing so saying Nash was a fellow player, and a friend of the owner; as if nepotism and connectionism nullify any indication of special treatment and privilege... or as if being “blackfriendly” disqualifies one from being racist or participating in it (such as whiteprivilege).  I argued that he was right to publicly raise this issue as the optics suggested white privilege. White privilege, privileges one race over another; it allows one set of people (race) to jump or skip line at another racial group expense or cost. And this exactly what seems to be occurring here where Nash, an “hall of famer” who has no coaching experience whatsoever and has never even indicated an interest in coaching, who is now gonna coach the Nets with superstars like Irvine and Durant, passing up several ...

Will A Quadrant Really Help Leaders Who Are Overwhelmed To Manage More Effectively?

Image
It is said that “many leaders find themselves feeling overwhelmed because they do not know how to effectively manage the tasks or projects that are on their plate.” Kingsley Grant, Founder if Emotelligence Leadership Institute suggested  a quadrant that will help you determine what you must do and what others should do.  Click here for link to Kingsley Grant Diagram and article But, you know why they’re overwhelmed? It’s because they’re trying to figure out what goes in each of those quadrants or what is really important and what weight to give a matter so that it is either important and or urgent or not. Don’t over complicate the small stuffs or complicate the complex with complex categories that no one has time to unpack.  People don’t work in those parochial mechanical robotic terms anymore. In this tech tonic world that has simplified some processes through computerized systems and where leadership is no longer pyramidic but horizontal. And where team is key, and what...

The Church Is Silent...

The church has failed us or is failing us. For it is silent and too involved with Caesar. But “give unto Caesar what is Caesars...”, don’t give him your life, that belongs to the Ultimate! You see, the church is supposed to be above and beyond and all transcending. It should be separate from all this political patronage stuff so that it can provide a safe and calming community and Be the prophetic voice. But the church is in bed with politicians and takes sides thereby diluting and corrupting their message or making them indifferent to the missteps of our elected leaders which facilitates injustice like the one we have today and yesterday and the day before and so on; where blacks are being gunned down everyday by police. Yet we allow a President to stand at St. John’s with Bible after he had violently cleared peaceful protesters so that he can have a photo-op. But the church is more concerned with identity politics than with being the conscience of the country, defender of the people ...

Wherever Is “God”?

“God” (however called known or described) is always “man’s ULTIMATE CONCERN”. Man is limited and God is Not.   For God is “than that which nothing greater can be conceived or imagined”.  Yet man in his limitations seeks to comprehend the reality and where-a-bouts of God as if God is lost or God is Not.  But if we who are limited have yet to grasp the essence of the universe and all that is, how are we to ascertain in totality or quintessentially that which is Ultimate, great and unfathomable!  Nevertheless we are encouraged in scriptures to seek God with all intensity of our being m, with “all our heart soul and mind” (in effect with our emotions affections and intellect) and we will “realize” God.  And when or if we “find” “God” we may be stunned to discover that “God” was always with us, yet we have denied access due to limitations of self and lack of faith. And so the saying goes, your faith takes you as far as you want it to go.  There’s a stor...

Serena Williams Has Already Made History; Margaret Court Has 11 GrandSlams Compared To Serena’s 23.

Serena Williams Holds The World Record For The Most Grand Slam Wins In The History of Professional & Open Tennis; Margaret Court Has 11 Grand Slams, Compared To Serena’s 23.  Following Serena’s Williams defeat to Azarenka last night at the semi finals of the US Open, D’Arcy Maine of ESPN and many other mainstream media pundits Posit post match commentaries that obscure and question Serena Williams’ position in history as someone who has already made history. D’arcy writes  “with all the strange circumstances surrounding the US Open, it might have been Serena’s best chance to Make history.... “  But, her best chances .... to do what? To equal or Break Margaret Court? That’s an Absolute Lie. Serena does not need to chase something that is an illusion. If so we are deluding ourselves in believing or thinking that a mark or place exist to be reached and or broken when in reality it is a creation of mind and reason so as to satisfy a void need or a standard of reaso...

The world Basically Divides Into Two Groups Of People

Mantas Jalinskas writes: The world basically divides into two groups of people: 1. Those who think they are better looking than they really are. 2. Those who think they are worse looking than they really are. Now I thought about it and these two groups of people popped into my head, Democrats and Republicans. I laughed about it and then thought further, which group of thinking group would the Democrats be as against the Republicans.  But to be serious and to get back to the pendulum presented by Mantas, I thought about it and concluded “that’s why critical thinking is important. And then, one’s thinking about one’s perception is sometimes colored by that which is without than that which is within.  Our experiences and ideas of what is, is at times influenced by this ego driven individualistic cosmetic world. And this may create a false impression of self which can create a self-esteem or a self devoid of it.  And then there are several selves: what we see, what we want to...

Donald Trump: What’s More Important Than Being Real And Telling The Truth So As To Save American lives... “IMAGE”?

@realDonaldTrump What’s more important? Saving face and averting panic by pretending as if #COVID is #fakenews Or saving American Lives by being REAL and straight with the American People by telling us the #Truth. Unless “Image and ego is everything” and values more to the President than anything else. But Trumps strategy of deception has endangered the lives of millions, yet he has vowed to Make America Great Again by Putting Americans First. Is that really so?  The recent Woodard Report debunks this mantra. Woodard indicated that the President admittedly deceive the American People by lying and pretending as if Covid is a “much a do about nothing” or “mind over matter”, and begs the question as to the President’s honesty and realness as man who is real and puts Americans first.  Whose Bob Woodward? He who broke the Watergate scandal and is one of the nation's most respected journalists, interviewed Mr Trump 18 times from December to July. Mr Trump is quoted as telling him th...

Steve Nash Says That His White Privilege Helped To Land Him The Nets Coaching Job, But Is Still Keeping It!

#SteveNash while acknowledging publicly that it was his white race that helped him to get the nets coaching job, says that he’s still keeping it.  In doing so he’s agreeing with Stephen A. Smith Myself and others who argued last week, when news broke of him being named head coach causing surprise in the NBA world, that “ this is white privilege” ... as the optics suggest white privilege. Here’s a hall of famer who has no coaching experience whatsoever and has never even indicated an interest in coaching, who is now gonna coach the Nets with superstars passing up better blacks”.    Indeed We have said and know this from the outset.  But what adds insult to injury and intensities the insensitivity of it all, was when Nash and Max Kellernan can see it for themselves but still accept it and continue with it as if to say it’s ok, I’m “black friendly” so it doesn’t hurt.  You know, its easy for #SteveNash to come out and acknowledge publicly that he “skipped the line”...
