The Idol Worship of the Second Amendment!

The second Amendment was never established to protect gun owners and lobbyists. It’s there to ensure the preservation of all life above all else where a life is threatened and may need a lethal weapon to defend.

see the second amendment here

But when that amendment is abused and often times endanger lives more than it protect, it then reduces the efficacy and misplaced the aim of the amendment to protect life and question its relevance.

Nevertheless Many Americans seem to support or worship the amendment more than the purpose it serves. They are more protective of the shirt than the man in the shirt; but guns seem to jeopardize innocent life more than it protects it. It is LIFE that needs protection and it is life that the 2nd amendment serves.

The second amendment is a method or a strategy, a life saving strategy, built on the moral and ethical responsibility we have to ensure and preserve life. But when do we revisit strategies and methods of safety? When it fails to meet intended purpose or its purpose is abused so that it interferes in the very life it seeks to protect and defend.

So don’t get caught up in worshipping a strategy as if it’s God rather than a man made method to adhering to a Godly command to protect life. The second Amendment is subservient to God and to life and when that service fail to function well it must be revisited.

The #SecondAmendment is a “#means to an #end” not an end in #itself. The means is not the end as such there are things we can do to bolster or protect the means so that it is not #abused wantonly and so that it serves its #purpose. That’s the point here.

Do not believe that revisiting the 2nd Amendment is liberals hijacking it and abusing it and that they are trying  take away the rights of all Americans to arm and protect self and country! Nothing couldn’t be more wrong.

There are those who would want us to believe so. When they are all about profiting from that amendment or right. Such as slave traders who profited from using the Bible to practice slavery and vandalize foreign lands and people. As Americans we are witnessing our own brothers arming themselves as if to engage in civil unrest and have even committed or done heinous crimes with heavy militarized weapons only used in major wars. And to say that we should arm ourselves to protect from that is a recipe for civil unrest and internal revolutions! We must protect against the possibility of that: of people arming themselves forming various extremists groups under the guise of the second Amendment to overthrow the govt. or take out the other side!

  1. Guns are not the problem, people are. You said, “but guns seem to jeopardize innocent life more than it protects it.” Guns are jeopardizing innocent life, people are and they happen to use a gun to do so. The gun cannot kill people on its own, someone has to pull the trigger and aim.

    1. Yes people abuse the use of guns so that using or the access to it (guns) become a problem and strengthening laws to protect the purity of the second Amendment so that it is used to preserve and protect is paramount but often times doing so is seen as sacrilege

  2. It is a “means to an end” and not an end in itself. The means is nit the end and as such there are things we can do to bolster or protect the means so that it is not abused wantonly and so that it serves its purpose. That’s the point here. Do not believe that revisiting the second Amendment so that it does not mean the hijacking of it and abuse of it is really about taking away the right to arm and protect self and country! Nothing couldn’t be more wrong. There are those who would want us to believe so. When they are all about profiting from that amendment or right. Such as slave traders who profited from using the Bible to practice slavery and vandalize foreign lands and people. As Americans to ensure that the very thing that serves us doesn’t work against us by putting steps in place to ensure that it is not abused!

    1. I wanted to revise my comment. Hitler took away guns from the weak and innocent...like the Jews and other deemed degenerates. On paper, gun control looks like a good idea. However, who monitors those who say who can have a gun and those who do not?!?!? Are we setting up a situation where the elites control the weapons and the innocent are at the whims of the powerful? History has a tendency of repeating itself. Hitler was a mastermind of regulation and propaganda. He controlled what books we read, what radio stations we listened to, what things you could buy, etc. History repeats itself.

    2. I fully appreciate your comments here. I understand your point but we have to work together to get it right and there’s room for improvement. Whatever the term we use, ensuring life is protected is most important and protecting the rights that preserve life is vital. Bearing arms is being being abused and we have to protect against that
