Mass Shootings Rising in America! Why?

Image
Mass Shootings are rising in America. Why? There has been more mass shooting in the last three months than there ever was in recent history, since lynchings were made illegal, and segregation ended in America. In fact, according to USA today: between February 17th and 19th: Nine (9) children   were shot at Georgia gas station .  Six people   were killed in a Mississippi town . Eleven (11) people  were shot in Memphis . Five (5) people  were injured near a parade in New Orleans . Six (6) people  were shot on a Chicago expressway . That's just half of the reported mass shooting violence over the weekend. There were 10  mass shootings  from Feb. 17 through Feb. 19 – the most of any weekend so far this year, according to  data from the Gun Violence Archive . That’s considering all shootings from Friday to Sunday in which four or more people were shot, not including the shooter or shooters. The number of shootings over the weekend is unu...

Breaking News: Jamaican Law Enforcement is indicating a 31 percent drop in major crimes between 2022 and 2023!

Image
Jamaican  Law Enforcement is indicating a 31 percent drop in major crimes between 2022 and 2023. This represents the largest single drop at any time in  Jamaica ’s history. Jamaica had one of the highest  crime rates .  The Jamaica Constabulary Force Logo But this news, may change that  https://jcf.gov.jm/stat . Further, are there any correlational effects as a result of this such as what is happening with  poverty  and  income inequality  if  crime and violence  is falling rapidly.  If poverty and income inequality are still high, while crime is falling would suggest a misnomer or a problem for  Marxist Materialists  who asserts a  Relative Deprivation  theory.  This theory asserts that societies with high crime suffer from high poverty and income inequality. So, we would need to ascertain these new numbers surrounding poverty and inequality in Jamaica.  On the other hand, the US, a post-indu...

What's Difference between Neoliberalism and Liberalism?

Image
There's a difference between liberalism and  Neoliberalism . Liberalism was the humanist ideology promoting individualism and free wills. It was a social theory within the humanities. Renaldo McKenzie However, liberalism like all useful theories, doctrines or things, became adopted and was adapted within another discipline, Economics, due to its usage and normalization within the corporate industry by capitalists and the large corporation, (see Richard Edward and Harry Braverman in Labor and Monopoly Capital, 1998 and McKenzie's, "Neoliberalism...", 2021)   The idea, principles and guarantees of liberalism provided a useful opportunity, to remake into an economic theory a strategy to advance capitalist bottom line and goal for profit. This new liberalist thrust within economics gave rise to the term  Neoliberalism .  Neoliberalism  was thus the breaking down of barriers to allow for the penetration of capital because capital is about profit and goes where it c...

MLK Day: The Caribbean Community in Philadelphia Empowering the World

Image
I recently submitted this letter to the Jamaica Gleaner for consideration as a Letter to be published in its Newspapers. I also did a podcast episode on The Neoliberal Round Podcast on the matter to be presented in summary below. Here's the link to the Audio podcast, available on any stream: Caribbean Community in Philadelphia Give Back on MLK Day on The Neoliberal Round Podcast via The Google Podcast Link Please find the Letter to the Gleaner below: Dear Editor, I bucked up on a group in Philadelphia at Broad & Olney on MLK day giving back to people. We had described the Caribbean Community and it's diaspora as peoples who are "Dependent" when thinking about the type of capitalism or socio-economic dynamic of the post colonial communities of the Global South and their diaspora to a lesser extent. However, on MLK day we visited a group in Philadelphia at Broad and Olney who were giving back to the community, providing various resources and information to improve t...

What is the difference between #Neoliberalism & #NeoCapitalism , if there's a difference? Secondly, is there any similarity between Neo-Capitalism and #PsuedoCommunism ? Thirdly, is it fair to describe pseudo-communists as s a " #CultofMarxism "? Fourthly, what's the difference between #Russia & #China ? Which American President compares closely with #SimonBolivar ? I sat down with Professor Emeritus Dr. Martin Oppenheimer to review and discuss my upcoming Book, on which he's a Contributor, #NeoliberalGlobalizationReconsidered , which is the second edition to Neoliberalism, Globalization, Income Inequality, Poverty and Resistance. Why Don't The Russians Rise Up? Ishmael's Story, A Jewish Russian American Perspective

Image
I sat down with Ishmael, A Russian American for an episode of The Neoliberal Round Podcast,  https://anchor.fm/theneoliberal   to discuss what's going on in Russia and in particular, why don't the Russian people rise up? It was quite interesting and revealing. The episode featured Co-Host Maurice Smith.  We made several points on the podcast that is worth mentioning here: 1. Ishmael is a Jewish, Russian American whose Grandparents are from and live in Ukraine today. 2. Russians are against the war but are too poor to do anything about it as they spend their lives trying to survive; many can't even afford a washing machine. 3. All Russian males are automatically drafted into the army. 4. Elites are connected to Putin and would rather sell-off Chelsea FC than speak against or denounce Putin who has helped to grease the pockets of the oligarchs, many of whom are part of the same fraternity. 5. Why replacing Putin doesn't solve the problem of the Ukrainian invasion, as Puti...

Question: Who won the trade between Russia and the USA, where Victor Bout, Death-Merchant was traded for Brittney Griner the WNBA-Star?

Image
Question: Who won the trade between Russia and the USA, where Victor Bout, Death-Merchant was traded for Brittney Griner the WNBA-Star? And do you agree with John A. Castro, US 2024 Presidential Candidate, calling Former President Donald J. Trump's recent statement on Twitter, calling for more insurrection, "treasonous?" and Is It Ok to Mandate Having Health Insurance That Is Privatized? Brittney Briner, US and Viktor Bout, Russia We discuss these questions on the Podcast today, which features several contributors, Maurice, Joesph, Jermaine, Donte and Renaldo McKenzie, Host. The Episode is powerful and highly explosive with intense arguments between the commentators especially concerning the Brittney Griner release as it has become a contentious subject in America, given what the US had to give up to get the WNBA star. The episode is divided into three main segments where each of the questions above are discussed separately. The Neoliberal Round Podcast Episode on the U...

John Anthony Castro Calls Donald J. Trump’s Recent Statements, Treasonous

Image
➤  John Anthony Castro A US 2024 Presidential Candidate replied via Twitter  to Former President Donald J. Trump inciteful and violence-riddled #tweet for he had an #ulteriormotive-another #insurrection and demonstration of extremist violence against #democracy and the people and this great #USA. Mr. Castro said:  “And there you have it. He’s finally shown his true colors. He wants to terminate the #USConstitution. For those of us that are #ConstitutionalConservatives, we will go to any lengths to ensure this never happens. What’s the penalty for treason again?” #realJohnAnthonyCastro via Twitter He’s spot on and seems to be doing critical thinking and wide analysis here, looking beyond the surface of #donaldjtrump statements, which seems to resemble similar statements leading up the January 6 insurrection. Further, it would seem that Mr. Trump has not learnt anything. No #justice or accountability have been meted out to the minds behind the January 6 Attack. Only the foo...
