The book is a #nonfiction academic book that re-examines history that has not been kind to a certain set of people, places and socio-economic positions. The book is critical of the social resistance and questions whether we have garnered any true independence and freedoms, civil rights or equity in the history of resistance and asserts that unless freedoms are taken instead of granted there is no real freedoms, independence and civil rights because human rights, freedoms and independence are inherent in who we are and cannot be gifted for if it is gifted it still presumes a position of power for the receiver and hegemony to be able to grant freedoms for the giver.
