The Global And US Covid Response Strategy Is Not Comprehensive Enough
“New coronavirus daily cases in the United States hit another record high Wednesday, with 140,543 reported and more expected before the end of the day.”
The Global and US Covid strategy is not comprehensive enough. In fact it’s narrow and political. There are more things we can do than just socially distancing ourselves or masking. We should not place too much on social distancing when having a strong immune system that is not shocked or compromised based on healthy and fit living and habits may prove to be more vital than just masks and distancing.
Every year hundreds of thousands of people die from the flu virus; and who are these people who contract and or die from it? Those with weakened or vulnerable immune system, who, at some point in time are exposed to viruses that eventually take over their bodies and may terminate if they have other terminal illnesses and extremely compromised systems that exacerbate the issue.
Closing the gyms, shutting down the bars and churches etc do very little to curb the spread. We must ensure that Americans also access health services and COVID Baseline Tracking, where they can check, track and know their health and fitness status (such as their level of immunity to defend against diseases), eat healthy foods that build their immunity and minimize situations that can create a “shock” for their immune system thereby compromising and debilitating its defense capabilities.
By the way anyone can have a compromised or weakened immune system at any given time, not just those with vulnerable systems from certain diseases that they may have. So-called “healthy individuals” can get the flu or covid if they, at some point in time, compromise or shock or weaken their system while at that same time exposing themselves to viruses. One can weaken or shock one system when one does not get enough sleep, healthy foods and exercise, when one does not drink or smoke in excess or by not overdoing anything that speeds up the body’s decay, and when one engages in activities that confuses one’s immune system or body by doing things such as exposing the body to extreme changes in the weather.
Let me explain further about this last point by sharing an example: Let’s say it’s winter; and I decided that I was gonna wear summer clothes in the winter (25 degrees and below), and I step outside of a warm home or place (60-79 degrees or above) into the cold wearing sleeveless or a thin shirt (without doing any kind of physical activity that increases the body’s temperature); my body will react immediately and at times this may be a shock to the body by that new and abrupt stimuli and as such it has to quickly adjust. But if you then go back inside a few minutes or a few hours later where it’s very warm (60-79 degeees and above) then the body has to now readjust quickly but at some point the immune system may be confused and reach some breaking point where an opening is created that exposes the body to a virus like the flu or the covid.
But even so it’s important to have good nutrition and dieting that build the immune system/body defense mechanism that if shocked may withstand against any cracks that might create any opening. Nevertheless, it’s always better to avert any possibility of any shock to the immune system that may compromise it by being spatially aware and weatherly alert. However we do not always control our environment as we share our spaces with others and minimizing shock or extremities that may create shock to our immune syste m such as controlling our exposure to drastic changes in weather and temperatures is not easy. We will have to be creative not reactive such as New York and the Cuomo administration.
Cuomo imposed a 10 p.m. indoor curfew on bars, restaurants and gyms starting Friday; private home gatherings are limited to 10 people. Parts of Staten Island now become a yellow zone. This is Ridiculous and utter nonsense! They think this is effective but it will do nothing. Unless we practice healthy living, implement baseline tracking, and manage the vulnerable population without punishing the healthy and crippling the economy by shutting it all down even without any immediate relief.
Therefore, we must focus on a comprehensive strategy that encourages masking, social distancing and sanitizing coupled with baseline tracking and free testing, healthy living and minimizing shock to our immune system. If this is done we would not need to shut down everything as is the plan now and New York has already started to shut down bars and gyms and restaurants. But to be frank, It is those who are vulnerable that needs to be shutdown and mandated to mask, and their families should practice masking and social distancing around them.
