Cuomo must step down on the whims of Allegations, yet to be proven, within a political context that is divided and is about scoring points...Crazy!!

Cuomo must step down on the whims of Allegations, yet to be proven, within a political context that is divided and is about scoring points.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called for Gov. Andrew Cuomo to resign on Thursday, following a report of sixth a woman accusing him of sexual misconduct.

We want to penalize Cuomo, telling him to resign, without any verdict of guilt. He’s been found guilty by a divided political system that has perverted justice and human rights. Democrats are so hypersensitive about these issues which is created by the perception of  them trying to be consistent,  that they’ve lost sight of the process of justice and legality about allegations of abuse. In a haste to protect the victim and appear ethically consistent (as they had once called for Trump removal for the same or worse accusations) we corrupt justice, legality and human rights to fairness, we pervert the accused who is at first innocent before a verdict of guilt. Just because someone has accused another of abuse, does not mean that abuse occurred or that a law was broken. Yet we have jumped to a conclusion of guilt so that we can hand down a penalty of resignation without due process. Whether you’re a victim or perpetrator, that’s left to be determined! It’s not clear cut that a victim is a victim or a perpetrator is a perpetrator or that an act rises to a level of injustice and abuse. We live in a civil society that has systems in place to make those determinations.

But it seems that Mr. Cuomo has been written off even by his own political members as guilty who must resign. What is Mr. Cuomo guilty of? What is it that he did that constitutes sexual misconduct that he has vigorously denied as nothing more than inappropriate. Nevertheless we have to treat the victim as the victim and the innocent as innocent. So how do we reconcile the two. The issue of due process or innocence before guilt becomes problematic when it involves some kind of or the allegation of victimization. Because we are called to be sensitive to the hurt but also cherish the innocence of the accused until the legal process of justice proves otherwise. Yet here we are coming to a conclusion demanding Cuomo to step down, on premises that are unfounded without a court of law. The fact is that the victim can also commit the crime of making false accusations about someone based on a limited perspective of the issue or as a deliberate attempt to corrupt another individual in power for personal gain. Now how do we protect against that?
