What Decisions Should Social Media Companies Allow Artificial Intelligence Technology to Make?

Some decisions should not be solely left to algorithms and artificialintelligence, especially when it comes to social media companies like Meta Facebook. Account disabling due to perceived SPAM is an issue that needs attention. Despite protests and verifications, legitimate members continue to have their accounts disabled, often due to misunderstandings.


Even accounts generating substantial views and traffic without payments or verification are not immune. Take, for example, Donte Nelson, a Manager at The Neoliberal Round Podcast, whose Instagram account (@do.nte7954) was disabled because the platform deemed it too popular, possibly mistaking it for spam. Despite his efforts to regain access, he's facing challenges.

The technology should not have had the ability to take any punitive decision such as disabling accounts or shutting down accounts, that should be left up the the human. The technology should do less punitive and basic actions that may include flagging but then the human should review and make the final decision to disable after a check.

Unfortunately, the problem seems to disproportionately affect unverified users not paying for popularity, resulting in account disablement if the technology struggles to handle their traffic and popularity effectively. Breaking: Russian military shot dead 51-year-old US Correspondent, Brent Renaud in Irpen

Kyiv Region Police Chief Andriy Nebytov said that the Russian military had shot dead 51-year-old The New York Times correspondent Brent Renaud in Irpen.  Another journalist was injured and is currently in Okhmatdyt Hospital.  According to open sources, Brent Renaud was a photojournalist and director, making many documentaries with his brother.  The publication itself has not yet confirmed the death of its correspondent. President Zelenskyy of Ukraine submitted an update regarding the War: The main points of his message in the video: 1. He calls for a “NO—FLY—ZONE” in the region, and stated that 74 percent of Americans support the no-fly-zone. Yet we have not approved the request, a decision that will help significantly, Ukraine’s advantage in the war.  2. The Armed forces of Ukraine hold all areas of defence and are counterattacking Russian invaders near: Kharkiv, and holding the line in Maykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv region, Sumy region and Dobas.  3.
