Separation of Powers is a Facade!

Image
What is going on in America? Speaker Mike Johnson is threatening to withhold funding from District Courts for making a ruling that challenges the President. If the President disagrees with a lower court judge, he must appeal. We have a system in place that should work, unless when it works against the powerful they can withhold money. That means we have no separation of powers in actuality, if politicians can decide to withhold funding from the Judiciary. There's no way an attorney would make such irresponsible statements threatening the institution that has been constitutionally entrenched and has given him his authority. Speaker Johnson must have been threatened by Trump whose support he needs in order to keep his job as Speaker. So then there's no separation there either if the speaker and the house are "elected" by The President.  Nevertheless, Johnson's statements are unconstitutional, threatens the legal institution that has given him his law lic...

Dear Mr. President, I've Learned from my Mistakes.

Image
Dear Mr. President Donald J. Trump, I have learned from my mistakes as a Leader. In retrospect, in 2005, as a young new pastor at 25 years old in Jamaica, I made some changes The United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands that were ill advised. I moved too quickly and although the changes were great, they created a lot of hurt and dwarfed the huge gains so that I was forced to resign as the minister to preserve the church. I'm in my mid-40s now in the US, and as I reflect I have learned that Leaders must move with careful intention and delicacy when making fundamental changes that affect their followers and team. change is good, but it must be a process that involves everyone and protects the most vulnerable. - Rev. Government Oversight or Bureaucratic Waste? The Redundancy of DOGE and Shadow Cabinets

Image
Department of Government Secretaries are supposed to manage their staff, ensure accountability, and know what’s happening in their agencies. If we need another department—DOGE—to do this for them, then why have Secretaries at all? It’s an unnecessary layer of bureaucracy and a waste of resources. Then there’s Elon Musk suggesting that federal workers send daily emails just to prove they’re alive. That logic is flawed. If dead people are somehow getting paid, they can just as easily send back emails. This entire exercise makes no sense. Each department, with its newly confirmed leadership under a new president, should run the government—without an extra, redundant oversight body. A shadow cabinet only adds to the waste, forcing taxpayers to fund DOGE, Elon, and the Secretaries all at once. It’s inefficient and unnecessary. Submitted by Rev. Renaldo C. Is The American Dream Under Siege? Federal Millionaires, DEI Cuts, and the Politics of Race

Image
According to Elon Musk, its "interesting" that amuse is reporting that "almost 160,000 federal civil service workers are now millionaires, (https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1893774109726703951?t=z-1i6lvOk2l5HWY0WdMYhQ&s=19). So, you're saying that under Former President Joe Biden, many Federal workers who are Americans were able to realize the American dream and that's a problem for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk and Donald J. Trump?  So the plan is to impoverish these millionaires who had worked for the government. I heard Musk got richer under Biden. If truth be told, the problem is that some black people got rich. The federal government over the years allowed black people to get rich so now they are jettisoning the only path to the American dream for most black people in America; working as civil servants. By firing all DEI hires calling it "efficient" and using it as a strategy to Make America White again with...

Film Review: Captain America: A Brave New World

Image
Last night, I watched Captain America: Brave New World , and I have mixed feelings about it. As a superhero action movie, I would rate it a 5/10 —it leaned far more into drama than action, and when action sequences did appear, they often felt contrived, almost as if I were watching a simulation rather than an organic, high-stakes battle. The lack of thrilling, immersive action sequences left a lot to be desired, especially for those expecting the high-energy spectacle characteristic of Marvel films. That being said, Brave New World does what many superhero films fail to do—it integrates its action sequences seamlessly into the storyline rather than forcing them in for mere visual appeal. Unlike other films in the genre where action can feel botched or abrupt, the sequences in Captain America were well-woven into the narrative. This is where the film redeems itself, making it feel more like a drama than a typical superhero flick. As a drama, I would rate the movie 7/10 . The ...
