The Hypocrisy of African Americans Who Say they Didn't vote.

Image
There's something I can't get out of my mind since yesterday at the Post Elections Forum held at Temple University' Africology and African American Studies department.  How can  an African American professor, sit here in his Ivory Tower and say they didn't vote because African Americans have been voting for 50 years without any progress? When sitting here as a professor came from the efforts of people like Octavius V Catto who was killed on October 10, 1871, trying to get Africans involved in the electoral process. In American political democracy nothing happens without the electoral process. But that's one step and the fight is multifaceted. Some are using politics and others academics while others Entrepreneurial Initiatives and economics etc. It is as if all the work to get us involved was in vain. When our ability to get things done requires real actions still happening and voting is part of thart process. It's hypocrisy to say the least. Watch t...

Commentary: Should President Joe Biden Withdraw from the Presidential Race?

Image
These are pivotal times for President Joe Biden and the Democrats who must make a decision regarding whether to continue to have Joe Biden at the top of the Presidential ticket given his decline which was evident at the presidential debate last week Thisday where he could not complete his answers, seeming oblivious at times, coughing with a cold and speaking slightly unintelligibly. Democrats and many on the left or are left-leaning are urging him to get out of the race. Joe Biden has remained resolute accepting his failures at the debate but has not indicated that he would and stated that he is not going anywhere. Biden also interviewed the ABC team, hoping to repair the damage and look presidential and able. That did not do anything to quell the rising discontent. If anything, Biden appeared still suffering from a cold. Host Renaldo C McKenzie and Co-Host Donte T Nelson discuss this and more on The Neoliberal Round Podcast. The episode begins with two brief recordings, the first ...

A College Education Still Plays a Crucial Role in Workforce and Community Development

Image
Recently, there has been a notable shift in business policies, with some now open to hiring workers without a college degree. Concurrently, high schools have seen a decline in the rigor of their programs, while colleges are being forced to accommodate this shift. Consequently, professionalism and customer service, seem to be fading into obscurity as businesses lower the bar for professional and educated staff in favor of those with less training and credentials. Furthermore, this change stems from a lack of understanding among businesses regarding the role and preparation provided by colleges. Colleges play a crucial role in developing critical thinking skills relevant to one's vocational practice, facilitating networking opportunities, and providing ongoing support that professionals need throughout their career-life journey. Therefore, the solution cannot be to sacrifice education for increased workforce participation. While it's true that some individuals may succeed without...

Juneteenth: Celebrating Freedoms in a Postcolonial World.

Image
#Postcolonialism   and post-independence don't suggest that colonialism doesn't exist today. It may very well exist in new forms; #Neoliberalism  or Neo-Capitalism and Pseudo-communism, and de jure and de facto discrimination, and subtle  #slavery . Labor moved from slave to low wage (Read it in  Rev. Renaldo McKenzie  book, Neoliberalism, Globalization, Income Inequality, Poverty and Resistance, 2021. #Neoliberalism  1 also explores the history of the resistance movements in the US, delves into the question of whether we are truly free and Independent, and questions the efficacy of the resistance movement by providing a history of black resistance in the Americas ... since the late 1800s to the 21st century. May we also think critically about this  #juneteenth . Available at  https://store.theneoliberal.com , Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Inc. Walmart, IngramSpark, etc. in all formats.

Part 1 Caribbean Thought Lecture 9 Should Theology Transcend Culture? Exploring Afro-Caribbean Beliefs

Image
This is Part One of a long Lecture exploring attitudes towards Afro-Caribbean beliefs and delving into the question should theology transcend culture? The Lecture is delivered by Rev. Renaldo McKenzie at Jamaica Theological Seminary available on The NeoLiberal Round Podcast. #Caribbeanunity and #blackpeoples unity threatened the #statusquo . So, the plan was always to implement strategies that prevent poor people's unity; the value of their strength, such as rejecting and diluting one's language as creole and religion as evil for a #eurocentric one. Hence we want to rediscover our unity by revisiting our #history and exploring the changing attitudes towards Afro-Caribbean and indigenous traditions in the #Americas . Leadership in Peril: The Weight of Words in the Shadows of History

Image
Trump Versus Biden Leaders must be careful when they speak. It is unacceptable and inexcusable for DonaldTrump to say there's gonna be a bloodbath even if he were referring to the socio-economic ramifications of voting for JoeBiden . Trump 's speeches may have led to #January6th , so he must " t oe the line " as some of his MAGA supporters in the GOP with extremists bent may misrepresent his statements for a call to repeat January6thInsurrection . We must learn from history , but clearly, we have not. Yet, we have a system in place to prevent a #bloodbath , TheJusticeDept which is not working, as the system USSupremeCourt in place driven by humancondition is now making excuses as to why they can't prevent another one JANUARY 6TH or to implement and execute #laws that limit the actions of those who may want to do so or to do so again.... AI Technology does not Threaten Human Existence Today or Tomorrow.

Neoliberal Globalization Reconsidered, Neo-Capitalism and the Death of Nations by: Renaldo McKenzie with Contributions from Martin Oppenheimer Let me make it clear: #aitechnology does not threaten human existence today or tomorrow. If anything, it challenges humanity's ways of life centered around the #dialectic of whether we live to work, or work to live and the earnings or currencies we have tied to the weight we place on types of work. #AI upends this dialectic which means we must rethink the ways we have organized life, for life is what we make it. #Excerpt of my upcoming #book : " Neoliberal Globalization Reconsidered Neo-Capitalism and the Death of Nations," by #renaldomckenzie and #martinoppenheimer Renaldo McKenzie is the author of Neoliberalism, Globalization, Income Inequality, Poverty and Resistance. Grade Point Average (GPA) Should Include Paid or Free Courses with the Same Amount of Effort and Learning

Image
Question : Why do some universities offer elective courses called SOPHIA where completing them doesn't affect a student's GPA, only their overall credits? This seems unfair and like a money-making scheme for schools that are supposed to be nonprofit. The Department of Education may need to investigate colleges like Capella University. Universities should rethink their policies on grading for courses that require the same effort and learning, regardless of whether they're paid or free.   #facebookisup #facebookisbackup They have resolved the issues. Apparently, the blackout had stemmed from a hack that Meta, and Facebook, and Instagram systems had detected and initiated a #shutdown to prevent any #security breach which was a good thing and a necessary mechanism. Part of #SPAM and #cybersecurity involves detection and prevention so the system will even shut down temporarily to stop hackers from intruding. However, the fact that this keeps happening means that FACEBOOK is always under attack from #hackers trying to get onto its system. But so far the mechanisms are in place to prevent this from happening.
